On board
On board are the main restaurant, The Club, the Grand Salon, an observation bar, a pool, whirlpools and a casino. The appeal of a small ship is the calm atmosphere with fewer people around.
In numbers
Dividing gross tonnage by passenger capacity gives a rough "ship size per guest" of about 69 GT (Japan's Asuka II is about 58 GT). The larger the figure, the more room per guest. Dividing guests by crew gives about 1.3 guests per crew member, against about 1.8 for Asuka II; the lower the figure, the more attentive the staffing is said to be. These are simple divisions of the figures given in this article; they do not measure how busy a ship feels or the quality of service.
Who she suits
She suits travelers who want a quiet stay on a small all-suite ship. With sailings that depart Tokyo, she is easier to choose for a first voyage on an overseas ship. Ask your travel agent about Japanese-language support on board before booking.
